How We Authenticate and Guarantee Every Piece at KAMLUX

Our Promise to You

At KAMLUX, we operate on a single non-negotiable principle: every pair we sell is exactly what we say it is. In a market where counterfeiting is sophisticated and condition misrepresentation is common, we've built our authentication process to eliminate doubt entirely.

Here is exactly what happens to a piece before it is ever listed on our site.

Step 1: Initial Submission and Origin Review

Every pair begins with a provenance check. We review where the piece comes from, any available documentation (original receipts, box, dust bags), and the seller's history. Pieces with unclear or suspicious provenance are refused at this stage, regardless of their apparent condition.

Step 2: Physical Authentication

Our specialists examine each pair against a brand-specific authentication framework covering:

  • Construction quality — stitching, welt, sole attachment, toe box, and heel counter
  • Materials — leather grain, texture, weight, and hand feel compared to known authentic references
  • Hardware — eyelets, buckles, zips, and heel taps
  • Logo and typography — stamping depth, font accuracy, placement, and consistency across both shoes
  • Serial and style numbers — cross-referenced against brand records and known authentic pairs
  • Box and accessories — verified where present

This process uses magnification tools, light analysis, and reference databases. It typically takes 30–60 minutes per pair for complex assessments.

Step 3: Condition Grading

Once authenticated, each pair is graded on a transparent scale:

  • Unworn / Deadstock — Never worn, all tags and packaging present
  • Excellent — Worn once or twice, no visible wear
  • Very Good — Light wear, all imperfections documented
  • Good — Moderate wear, significant imperfections clearly photographed and described

We do not list pieces below Good condition. Every imperfection in the listed grade is photographed and noted in the product description. There are no surprises.

Step 4: Professional Cleaning and Preparation

Before photography, each pair is professionally cleaned, conditioned, and where appropriate, polished. This is not to conceal wear — it is to present the piece fairly and hygienically. Shoe trees are inserted for photography to ensure accurate shape representation.

Step 5: Your Buyer Guarantee

If for any reason a piece arrives and is not as described — if the authentication is disputed by a credible third party, or the condition differs materially from our listing — we offer a full refund, no questions asked. We stand behind every piece we sell.

Browse With Confidence

Our full authenticated selection spans the most coveted names in luxury footwear: Christian Louboutin, Berluti, John Lobb, and J.M. Weston. Every listing is backed by the process described above — and by our commitment to making pre-owned luxury accessible without compromise.
